JBL Charge 3 has evolved a lot over its predecessor, the “Charge 2“. JBl Charge 3 is a waterproof speaker with an IPX7 rating. It means that it is waterproof up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of still water, while the Bose Soundlink Revolve is just spill proof and comes with an IPX4 rating. Also, the Charge 3 is a bit more rugged as compared to the Soundlink Revolve. So JBL Charge 3 is a clear winner here.Moving on to the connectivity options, both portable speakers have the choice to play wired or wirelessly over Bluetooth. But here Bose Soundlink revolve takes the lead as it works on Bluetooth 4.2 with NFC connectivity, whereas the Charge has Bluetooth 4.1 and sadly no NFC connectivity. The main problem with the wireless portable speakers is the battery life. JBL Charge 3 gives whooping backup of around 20 hours at fifty percent volume, thanks to the 6000 mAh giant battery. But with Bose Soundlink Revolve you will get around 12 hours of backup which is not bad either. But hats off the battery of the Charge 3.The giant battery on the charge 3 also adds weight and extra size to it. The Charge 3 is around 130 grams heavier than the Soundlink Revolve and looks bigger in size. Though looks are subjective, I like JBL Charge 3 over the Soundlink Revolve. The Charge 3 is available in three vibrant colors, while you get only two color options in the later one. For outdoor usage, I find Charge 3 a better option while for Indoor operations Bose Soundlink Revolve looks a better option to me.Wireless connectivity was not an issue for both the speakers, you get a decent connection up to 10 meters. We have discussed everything but not the sound quality that matters the most, so here it is. I like the sound of the Charge 3 over the Soundlink Revolve. The treble was better on the Soundlink Revolve. But the sound is more loud and balanced on the JBL Charge 3. If the Charge 3 has 360-degree sound it could have been even better. The JBL Charge 3 has well-balanced lows, mids, and highs. But don’t get me wrong here, the Soundlink Revolves produces amazing sound. But when compared side by side, Charge 3 does it better that might be because of the passive radiator. The Charge is a bit louder and bassy. The Revolve feels wide, all ranges are very clear and has more bass than any small to mid-sized Bluetooth speaker except the Charge. If the bass is a priority, Charge 3 is would be better for you. Otherwise, for wide range sound that offers clear vocals and crisp highs, Revolve is the winner. Moreover, JBL Charge 3 can also be used as a 6000 mAh power bank to charge your smartphone and other media devices in case of the emergency. But Revolve offers nothing like this. Till now we have compared the sound quality, durability, and features that both the rivals offer. For specs comparison, you can look down at the below table. Now you have got an idea in your mind which one is a better option for you. Moreover, the Charge 3 is cheaper than the Soundlink Revolve. So among both these great portable speakers, the Charge 3 is slightly more value for money product.ConclusionWe hope you like our Jbl Charge 3 Vs Bose Soundlink Revolve comparison.
